DeepMind Hunger Strike

In September 2025, Michaël started the Google DeepMind Hunger Strike, which was covered in mainstream news outlets like The Telegraph, The Verge, Sky News, and Le Monde, and received internal support from DeepMind employees, and eventually led to Demis Hassabis giving a public answer on whether he would pause frontier AI development if everyone else also paused.
